About the Area Bright’s Creek Golf
Club is tucked in the mountains but not far at all from cultural
centers and natural wonders. Theatrical performances take place
at the Flat Rock Playhouse in Flat Rock, The Tryon Arts Center
in Tryon, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville
Historic Biltmore Village holds an annual Dickens Festival,
transforming itself into a quaint Victorian village with
concerts, refreshments, horsedrawn carriage rides, and
strolling entertainers in period costumes.
Connemara, the Carl Sandburg Home, is a National Historic Site
receiving visitors from all over the U.S. The Asheville Symphony
Orchestra performs classical programs regularly.
Fly fishing on the French Broad River is another local
highlight. An guide company, Davidson River Outfitters, can
arrange instruction and lead outings.
