The Carolina Colours golf course is now being completed, with a grand opening scheduled for late summer 2010. Measuring 7,100-plus yards from the back tees and about 5,000 yards from the front, the par-72 course fits its site wonderfully.

Designed by Bill Love, past President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and Chairman of its Environmental Committee, the golf course responsibly preserves the intimate relationship between course, land, waterways and wildlife habitats.

The Out of Doors
Warm weather (which is a good portion of the year) brings canoes, kayaks, and many other neighborhood and community wide gatherings throughout Carolina Colours. This is only the tip of the iceberg, however, as the structured and casual activities and events in New Bern are virtually endless, as the town celebrates its 300th anniversary.

Centrally located within the community for all to share, our great big backyard includes the four-acre Towne Lawn Park and 25-acre Carolina Lake. Within walking distance, Harris-Teeter has contracted to build a high quality grocery store, to anchor a commercial center to support our residents and neighbors.

Boating enthusiasts will find 330 slips of marina availability on the Trent River, plus regional waterway access to the Trent, the Neuse River, Pamlico Sound, Bogue Sound, the Intracoastal Waterway and ultimately the Atlantic Ocean.

The Pavilion offers 16,000 square feet of space for relaxation and events.

The style is casual by design, yet sophisticated when needs arise. Golfers in their khakis will relax at the Sports Bar and Grill after an enjoyable round on the golf course. More formal attire is requested for events in the Grand Gathering Room.

Enjoy a drink with a view.

The Tap Room is the center for the Friday night gathering of many of the community residents. As casual as your own back porch, the Outdoor Living Room is simply for relaxing and nothing more. Meeting rooms of various sizes accommodate sharing just about anything with everyone, and provide a venue for games of all types.

The Tap Room is a perfect spot to relax and socialize.

Harris Teeter has contracted to build a high end grocery store to anchor our commercial center. With about 100 families now living within the community, and custom home construction continuing unabated, and with homes and home sites available over a wide spectrum of prices and styles, families of all ages continue to be drawn to New Bern and to Carolina Colours.

About the Area
New Bern and Craven County offer a variety of cultural, educational and historical attractions, from a magnificent palace, to museums and even beautiful gardens. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

The primary attractions are the colonial Governor's mansion, the Tryon Palace Historic Site and Gardens, and the surrounding historic district homes, some of which are open year-round. Others offer open house tours at different times during the year.

A revitalized downtown section is great for shopping, strolling or dining. The city has rebuilt its waterfront and created the new Riverfront Convention Center. Meanwhile, antique fairs, crafts, artisan galleries and fine arts make this a vibrant destination.

Driving Directions

From U.S. Highway 17 South:

• Cross the Neuse River Bridge, continue on Highway 17 South
• Take the first New Bern exit, to the right
• Merge to the left onto US Highway 70 East toward Havelock
• Travel about 5 miles to intersection of Highway 70 East and Thurman Road
• Turn right on Thurman (4th stop light on 70) into the Welcome Centre
