Four Mile Ranch
Cañon City,
Colorado

Ideally located in the heart of Colorado's temperate "banana
belt," Four Mile
Ranch is an active-lifestyle
community with an innovative Jim Engh golf course.
Description
Four Mile Ranch is a 1,640-acre community of thoughtfully
planned neighborhoods buffered by green space and quiet
footpaths.
In
June 2008 the community will debut a championship golf course by
architect Jim Engh. Since 2001, Engh has designed three of Golf
Digest’s “Best New Courses,” and was named Golf Digest’s first
“Architect of the Year” in 2003.

A "montane" golf course, the Four Mile layout features pine,
fir, spruce and aspen.
Over 45 percent of the Four Mile Ranch property is
natural and recreational open space. When it’s complete, the
community will offer 2,600 new residences, including single-family
homes, cluster homes and townhomes.
An additional 178 acres is slated for development of retail and
office space. The result will be a convenient and handsomely
designed center for appropriate commercial activity within the
community’s borders.

With 325 days of sunshine, golf is a year-round pursuit.
Enjoying a microclimate with 325 days of sunshine each year,
Cañon City allows for everyday golf year-round. The new Four Mile
Ranch Golf Club course makes ideal use of the magnificent views,
natural landscaping and mile-high elevation of its site.
Opportunity and Affordability
A central theme of the community is affordable golf course
living. There are golf lots starting as low as $85,000 and
smartly designed homes in the Colorado Territorial style that
will range from the $160,000s to the low-$300,000s.
Cañon City, county seat of Fremont County, sits at the mouth of
the Royal Gorge in the foothills of the Rockies, 90 miles from
Denver. The Arkansas River extends the entire 60-mile length of
Fremont County and flows through the city of Cañon City.

Over 45 percent of the Four Mile Ranch property is open
space.
The walkable and interesting town of Pueblo is just 35 miles
away. Colorado Springs, with its famed red rock canyons and
resort atmosphere, is some 40 miles away. The cities of Lakewood
and Denver are 90 miles away.

About the Area
Established in 1859, originally as a commercial base for gold miners in the Rocky Mountains, Cañon City was incorporated into Fremont County in 1872 and has since become a popular tourist destination for visitors from around the state. Now home to exceptional white water rafting tours along the Arkansas River, the areas of Florence and Cañon City, with close proximity to the Royal Gorge, have become increasingly popular within the last decade.
Just southwest of Colorado Springs, the Cañon City and Florence area offer mountain biking, world-class rafting and unique destination rock-climbing set among a breathtaking Royal Gorge. Another special attraction is the historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad. This unique railway offers seasonal murder-mystery and gourmet lunch/dinner rides.
Within the areas of Pueblo, Cañon City and
Florence is a range of transportation options, including the
Fremont County Airport providing access to the rest of the
country for residents and visitors of the region.
A modern hospital, which has recently
undergone an $18 million renovation, serves the medical needs
for the county. Additionally, a physician-owned surgery center
has also recently opened. There are numerous fitness centers
along with family practitioners and specialists in the county.
