Fripp Island, South Carolina

Named for a legendary sea captain, this coastal sanctuary has
become a recreational landmark for fun-seeking residents and guests.

Fripp Island, a private 3,000-acre community, is located just 19 miles east of historic Beaufort, South Carolina. It measures over three miles in length and is the most seaward of the beautiful Carolina Sea Islands. Known as a casual family retreat with excellent golf, boating, tennis and hiking, Fripp Island is a sanctuary for osprey, heron, egrets and loggerhead turtles.

The marina provides dockage, storage and easy access to Intracoastal Waterway.

Fripp is bordered on the north by Hunting Island, which is now a South Carolina state park, by Fripp Inlet, and on the south by Pritchard’s Island which is also owned by the State of South Carolina and is separated by Skull Inlet. No development will ever encroach on Fripp from either side.

Fripp boasts two championship golf courses. Ocean Creek Golf Course opened in October of 1995. A championship 18-hole course, it is Davis Love III's first signature design and features sweeping marsh views from many holes. The Ocean Creek venue was a film location for “Forrest Gump,” Disney's “The Jungle Book,” and "The Prince of Tides.”

Distinctive Neighborhoods
Fripp Island's distinctive neighborhoods all have unique character. For example, the Cabana Club's three pools and a Davis Love III signature golf course are strong suits of Fripp's newest neighborhoods in Ocean Creek, while a community crabbing dock and picnic area lend charm to life in Fiddler's Ridge, one of Fripp Island's original neighborhoods.

The property owners association maintains the island's half-mile access bridge, its streets, lagoons, lakes, beach accesses and other common areas. It also provides the island's security service. Protective covenants and architectural standards maintain harmony between development and the environment.

Just a few miles from the Intracoastal Waterway, the marina offers offshore charters and inshore fishing with one of our experienced guides.
