Description
Homestead Preserve, a conservation-based,
historic Virginia community situated on 11,500 acres in Bath
County, is dedicated to the preservation of the natural
landscape and architectural heritage of the Allegheny Highlands.
Home to three championship golf courses and The Homestead®
Resort, which was recently named one of the World's Top 5 Golf
Resorts by Condé Nast Traveller magazine.

Mountains, forests and distant views are preserved for
future generations.
Homestead Preserve is a second-home vacation community of 450
homesites and more than 10,000 acres committed to permanent
conservation. Its spectacular settings, from 360-degree mountain vistas to rolling meadows,
recall an English countryside.
Homestead Preserve stands adjacent to The Homestead, one of the
world's finest golf and spa resorts. Open since 1766, The
Homestead has luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, superb
dining, a myriad of sporting pleasures and outdoor adventures.
Ownership at Homestead Preserve affords you and your family the
opportunity to enjoy exclusive membership privileges.

Recently named among the World's Top 5 Golf Resorts by Condé
Nast Traveller magazine and ranked No. 1 in Virginia by
Golf Digest, The Homestead boasts three championship
courses. The Cascades course, designed by William S. Flynn,
opened in 1923 and is consistently ranked among Golf Digest's
and Golf Magazine's Top 50 courses in the nation.
The Old Course, opened as a 12-hole layout in 1892 and was later
expanded to 18 holes by Donald Ross in 1913, is home to the
oldest first tee in continuous use in America. The Lower
Cascades features the work of Robert Trent Jones, Sr.

Play on three championship golf courses, one of which
features the oldest first tee in continuous use in the U.S.
Additional recreational activities available through The
Homestead include spa facilities, tennis, pools, fitness center,
falconry, winter skiing and ice-skating, an equestrian center,
100 miles of trails for hiking, biking or riding and a gun club
offering trap, skeet and sporting clays.
The area’s ancient mineral springs remain an attraction to those
who come to soak in their rejuvenating depths. Within the steep
wooded valleys and high meadows, hikers readily spot raptors and
migratory songbirds; bobcat and black bear; catawba rhododendron
and rare mountain pine barren.
