The Kenmure Success Story
Kenmure has grown into a major golf community with exceptional
values and a strong financial position since it was acquired by Kenmure Properties, Ltd.
in 1985. Real estate sales have
exceeded all expectations with 495 homesites and 191
condominiums sold.

Kenmure's mountain golf course offers views and challenging
play.
With spectacular resources such as the Joe Lee-designed
mountain golf course and stunning views of the Blue Ridge
mountains from elevations as high as 3,000 feet, Kenmure has
always had the elements of a superior community in the making.
Since that time the number of completed single-family homes
has increased from seven to 323. And club membership has grown from zero to
456 through August 2002
(approx. 322 of them are golf memberships). Permanent membership in
the club is generally only available to Kenmure property
owners.

The Kenmure Mansion has been entertaining guests since
1850.
Its strong infrastructure comes from the people who live
there. Kenmure's active members and residents serve with the
property's management team on numerous
committees (i.e., Welcoming Committee, Architectural Review,
Road Maintenance, Security) and various other committees for
club and golf activities.
The Kenmure Homeowners Association
is especially active, promoting its vision for a high quality of life and aiding
fellow residents in times of need.
The Kenmure Mansion
One of the key landmarks at Kenmure is the Kenmure Mansion,
which overlooks the impressive 18- hole, Joe Lee
course. A stately Southern home, it dates back to 1850 and has
been carefully restored to serve as Kenmure's clubhouse.
Members enjoy an informal grill room, formal dining
room and banquet facility, pro shop and administrative
offices.
A heated swimming pool,
tennis courts (hard and
soft surface) and fitness center are also part of the amenities. Memberships
are restricted. Overall, there will be a total of 500 Full
Golf et al memberships and 200 memberships made up of Sports
Club and Social.

An aerial shot shows how the golf course is tucked right
into the mountain landscape.
The
clubhouse is the center of activities and whether you play
golf, tennis, bocce ball, bridge or canasta, you'll find
friends who will want to pursue your interest with you. If you
prefer hiking, gardening,
literature, photography, or astronomy, there are several clubs
within the community to satisfy those interests and more.

Discover
Flat
Rock
Flat Rock, located just four miles from downtown Hendersonville,
is often bypassed by tourists who don't even know it's there. Yet it is a
community which has a unique attraction and a special feeling.
Concealed behind unmarked gateways, ornamental shrubbery and
tree-lined carriage drives, the community is one of the most interesting
collections of dwellings in America.

Fall scenery is spectacular in Flat Rock.
A
century and a half ago, Flat Rock began to sprout large summer
estates designed in the English manner by affluent
Charlestonians, Europeans and prominent plantation owners of
the low country. Eventually, the settlement grew to about 50 estates.
In antebellum
days, they served as summer escapes highlighted by an endless string of morning gatherings on latticed porches, picnics, tennis
teas and quadrilles danced under candled chandeliers. It was
the essence of
pleasant living. Most of these stately dwellings still stand, surrounded by
wide lawns, gardens and towering trees--the result of
generations of loving care.

The Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway is one of America's most
scenic byways.
Today,
the Flat Rock district is on the National Register of Historic
Places. The community is also home to the Flat Rock Playhouse,
State Theater of North Carolina. It is recognized as one of
the10 best summer stock theater companies in the United
States.
Notables
such as Lee Marvin, Kim Hunter, Pat Hingle,
and Burt Reynolds have "trod the boards" at Flat
Rock. Established in 1952, it mounts an average of eight
Broadway and London hits each summer. Across the street from
the Flat Rock Playhouse, is Carl Sandburg's Connemara home,
also open to the public.
