Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is like no other Florida courses you've ever seen. It is rolling hills, undulating valleys, hardwood forests dotted with freshwater lakes. The landscape and elevation changes here are far more typical of North Carolina than they are of Florida. But, make no mistake, Lake Jovita is Florida at its finest. In fact, the club's South golf course features a natural elevation drop of 94 feet from tee to green on the par-5, 11th hole.

The landscape and elevation is reminiscent of North Carolina.

"Obviously, the elevation change here is pretty unique," says PGA TOUR great and course co-designer Tom Lehman. "And the day this course opened it looked like it's been here for decades." 

In 2000, Golf Digest ranked the 7,153-yard South Course among the nation’s 10 best new upscale courses. Lehman, the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, had early input in designing the South Course, influencing tee placements, the angles of play and hazards. He, no doubt, had a say in the creation of the greens and their subtle, but confounding, contours.

The North Course, designed solely by Sandness, has a more contemporary feel. Roughly 180 live oaks were planted to enhance the golf course’s natural appeal. The newer North Course boasts even more elevation changes that its sister course. Players standing on the second tee box can see for miles.

The clubhouse features a stately Mediterranean design.

Besides having a winning course to play on, members also benefit from numerous organized activities, from Couples golf and men's and women's leagues to a Labor Day scramble as well as the traditional Men's and Women's Member-Guest Golf Tournaments. (Note that the club is semi-private for golf.)

Locker rooms are first-class with many amenities. The Pro Shop, named one to the "Top 100 Golf Shops in America" by Golf World Business, features a wide variety of high-quality clubs and apparel. Snack Bar and Beverage Cart services are available daily.

Lake Jovita's golf amenities also include a world-class practice facility with a practice chipping green, sand traps and separate teaching tee. Practice balls are complimentary to all golf members. The practice facilities host clinics and junior camps. 

The South course weaves through 220 acres.

The nearby Tampa Bay area offers Tampa Bay Buccaneer football, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey and Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball as well as collegiate sports at the University of South Florida. And every February the New York Yankees arrive for spring training.

There are plenty of golf, tennis and fishing opportunities throughout the area. Busch Gardens and Adventure Island are popular Tampa theme parks with Orlando's famed theme park less than 90 minutes away. Tampa also boasts outstanding theaters, excellent museums, superb restaurants and fine shopping. The Bluffs – The Bluffs – This area is located on the North Course of Lake Jovita. With spectacular elevations and views overlooking holes 6, 7, 8, and 9 with lots averaging 100’ wide and 260’ deep. Homes are 3,000 square foot minimum living area.

The Hills – Arthur Rutenberg is the exclusive builder in The Hills. Located on our North Course overlooking holes 11, 12, and 13 are 36 beautiful large lots, many over an acre in size with incredible vistas. A minimum of 2,800 square feet of living area is required. Parkside – Parkside – Located on the South Course with views of holes Nos. 2, 3, and 5. Many lots in Parkside will back up to the Community Park. Residents will enjoy a fitness trail, children’s park and picnic area. The 66 lots have an average size of 60’ by 170’ deep with homes starting at 2,000 square feet.
