The initial phase of Wilson’s Landing, scheduled for completion in 2006, will provide power boat storage for boats up to 35 feet, a ship's store and a harbormaster building from which boats will be launched. In the waters around Palmetto Bluff are large numbers of bottle-nosed dolphin, plus such sportfish as Tarpon, Red Drum, Flounder and Spotted Sea Trout. These same tidal rivers contain healthy populations of blue crabs and shrimp, and even the occasional manatee is sighted.
