Description
Poplar Grove Golf Community is a master-planned golf
development well-known to avid golfers in the central Virginia region. Its golf
course is the final design of golf legend Sam Snead, who teamed with Ed Carton,
formerly of the Tom Fazio design group, to create it.

Homes enjoy lake, golf and Blue Ridge mountain views
Golf Digest named this Snead signature layout No. 8 in the category of
'Best New
Upscale Golf Course' for 2005. Carved through native Virginia forest, the layout
features rolling terrain, natural streams and lakes, and sweeping mountain
views.
Five sets of tees provide challenges for all levels of golfers to enjoy, while
finely maintained bent grass greens, tees and fairways ensure superior playing
conditions for everyone.

Golf Digest named Poplar Grove 'Best New
Upscale Golf Course' for 2005.

dining and socializing for Poplar Grove. With magnificent views of the Blue
Ridge Mountains, it’s an ideal location for golf tournaments, weddings, private
parties, and corporate events.

The course was the legendary Sam Snead's final design.
Prominent in the Poplar Grove master plan are future amenities, which include a

About the Area
Poplar Grove is situated among the myriad scenic and
cultural attractions that make central Virginia an excellent
place to call home. Few regions strike such a fine balance
between rural seclusion and cultural sophistication.
The nearby city of Lynchburg is the regional center for commerce
and retail. It industries include nuclear technology,
pharmaceuticals and material handling. A diversity of small
businesses has helped the region maintain a stable economy.
Lynchburg has been named among the Top 10 Digital Cities for its
population since 2004.

The area's gently rolling hills can be seen in the layout
of the golf course.
With a strategic location between the mountains and the sea, the
area is defined by rolling natural beauty and historic sites
such as Civil War battlefields and presidential homes. It is
also known for its support of fine arts and performing arts
both.
The Virginia School of the Arts, The Ellington Playhouse and the
Jefferson Choral Society are among many prominent cultural
institutions near Poplar Grove. Smith Mountain Lake is a popular
recreation area west of Lynchburg.
