surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east and the
San Juan Mountains to the West. South Fork is surrounded by
nearly 3 million acres of national forests.
There is excellent skiing and snowboarding at nearby Wolf Creek
Ski Resort. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and cross
country skiing are also popular winter activities in the region.
The Great Sand Dunes National Monument and the Cumbres and
Toltec Scenic Narrow Gauge Railroad are popular summer
