A Private Lakeside Retreat
Uwharrie Point (pronounced U-R-E) is a private
lake and golf community that sits on the edge of
the 5,300-acre Badin Lake in Montgomery County,
North Carolina. Residents are surrounded by miles
of natural beauty and have the bonus of easy
access to the magnificent Uwharrie National
Forest and the Uwharrie Mountains, which border
the property.

A fantastic finish: holes
No. 17 & 18 at Old North State Club.
Every aspect of the community has been conceived with the
preservation of this beautiful natural environment in mind. For
instance, there's a strict program to minimize pesticide and
herbicide use on the golf course.
With the developer's commitment to having only 630 homes on
nearly 1,000 thickly wooded acres, Uwharrie Point is one of the
most luxurious uncrowded golf communities in the nation,
according to Chip Conner, managing partner.
"Uwharrie Point provides the utmost in lakefront
living," says Conner, "while at the same time maintaining the environmental
integrity and beauty of the natural surrounding area."

The clubhouse overlooks both the lake and the 18th green.

Active Amenities
The magnificent Old North State Club is the hub of the
community and serves as the host for
hundreds of events for its members every year, including golf
tournaments, receptions, luncheons, weddings, corporate meetings
and birthday parties. Overlooking the picturesque 18th hole and
Badin Lake, the elegantly appointed 24,000-square-foot
clubhouse provides an ideal setting.
Sited to maximize views of the golf course and the lake, the
Clubhouse atmosphere is one of refined elegance and welcoming
comfort. Amenities include the main dining room with sun
porch, a parlor bar (which includes informal dining) with native
stone fireplace, a spacious terrace patio and colonnade, an
outdoor area for large functions, a full service stand-alone
golf shop and fully equipped men's and women's locker rooms with
lounges, and private lockers.

The active tennis program.
The Clubhouse tops the list of outstanding recreational facilities
at the community which also includes
the 18-hole Tom Fazio championship golf course, two swimming pools, six tennis courts, fitness
center and lakefront guest Lodge.
The
club calendar is always filled with special programs. An activities staff
schedules events for adults and children alike, from Sports
Camps and Kids' Club to water aerobics and seminars on healthy
cooking.

Families create memories here.
Other important facilities include the full-service and a beautiful Guest Lodge with eight
wonderfully decorated rooms which can be used
by property owners and their visiting friends or family.

Real Estate Opportunities
Uwharrie Point offers a number of distinctive
neighborhoods. For example, Conner is excited about the upcoming
opening of the new Charleston-style neighborhood of Waterton

newly approved boat slips which can be used by its residents. Waterton is
crisscrossed with fences, sidewalks,
welcoming street lights and quiet streets.
Single-family homes feature 3-4 bedrooms with
large front porches, private courtyards and open,
airy floorplans. Amenities such as tennis,
swimming pool, watersports, marina, a charming
waterfront park and bandstand and clubhouse are

which offers homesites located along
the fourth fairway of the Old North State Club's heralded
Tom Fazio golf course.
Overall, homes are available from $375,000 to more than $1
million. Homesites are available from $100,000 to more than a $1

Award-Winning Golf
The popular Fazio layout is the focal point of the Old North
State Club, which has been ranked the No. 2 course in the state
for the past seven years by North Carolina
magazine. (Only the legendary Pinehurst No. 2
course placed higher.)

The community is adjacent to the Uwharrie National Forest.
Furthermore, its 17th and 18th
holes were picked as the best par-3 and par-5
holes, respectively, in the state. Pinehurst
itself is about an hour away from Uwharrie Points central North Carolina location,
and you can also drive to Charlotte, Greensboro or
Winston-Salem in about an hour.
