Ultimate Sales Call: GolfCourseHome® Publisher
Sails to The Bay Club, MA

August 26, 2009, Vineyard Haven, MA—While a good part of the media world was converging on the island of Martha’s Vineyard last week in preparation for President Obama’s vacation, GolfCourseHome Network Publisher David Lott was prepping to leave.

Lott and finance Elise Ryan sailed their pocket cruising yacht, a Cape Dory 270, from Martha’s Vineyard to The Bay Club, a luxury golf community set on the edge of Buzzard’s Bay.

“It was the ultimate sales call,” said Lott. “No traffic, no cars, no hassle. Plus you had the beauty of the sail itself and the wonderful hospitality offered by The Bay Club.”

The Bay Club is a Featured Community on the GolfCourseHome Network which provides detailed information about more than 150 master-planned golf and waterview communities for second home, retirement and vacation homebuyers.

Lott and Ryan sailed from Vineyard Haven Harbor through Vineyard Sound, navigated through the often treacherous swirling currents at Wood’s Hole and turned right on Buzzard’s Bay to sail up to Mattapoisett where The Bay Club’s Marketing Director Dave Andrews met them at the Mattapoisett Boatyard.

Lott and Ryan toured the club, the Brad Faxon-Brad Booth championship golf course and many of the fine homes for sale. Lunch was served by the swimming pool and dinner at The Golf House.

“It was a perfect day,” said Lott, “and it was great fun to see The Bay Club up close. Kids and their families were in the pool, tennis lessons were going on and a member golf event was being held in the late afternoon. The Bay Club is clearly a fun and active place to be.”

Blackstone Golf Course Named Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, Joins GreenGolfCommunities.net

The Jim Engh-designed golf course at Blackstone Country Club has been designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, the 10th in Arizona and the 778th in the world, by Audubon International.

A 570-acre private, gated community located within the Vistancia master plan in Peoria, the award adds even more weight to the community's green efforts, catapulting it to the Vanguard level--the top designation--on the GolfCourseHome Network's GreenGolfCommunities website.

Earning the certification means the club has demonstrated a strong commitment to its environmental program and maintains a high degree of environmental quality in the areas of environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water quality management, water conservation and environmental planning.

“The Blackstone agronomy team is to be commended for its efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property,” said Jim Sluiter, staff ecologist for the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.

The championship course is home to mule deer, ducks, badgers, bobcats, prairie dogs, chipmunks, many types of birds and the wild donkeys that have roamed the area for generations.

Course Superintendent Roger Brashear led the 25-member team in the year-long process that took more than 300 hours to complete.

“I’m proud of the team’s efforts,” he explained. “Their daily record-keeping allowed me to provide Audubon International with information in a concise and timely manner. It made things run very smoothly.”

Brashear, who is being recognized for his environmental stewardship by the organization, regards the certification as an affirmation of the club’s existing course maintenance practices.

“The environmental management practices we follow here are respectful of the land, wildlife, water and air,” he said. “But they also help us to improve our efficiency in maintaining the course and will ultimately help us achieve sustainability.”

The Top Five Trends Driving Today’s
Master-Planned Community Designs

Town planner says American Dream and the classic neighborhood live again

Newtown, CT, April 2, 2009 – The growth of green consciousness and the demand for more open space is just one of five key trends emerging from the drawing boards of today’s master-planned community designers, says Michael Gene Peters, a town planner at Wood & Partners Inc.

Peters names these five important design trends and describes how they are affecting what buyers are seeing in today’s new communities in an article he wrote for the GolfCourseHome.net blog.

The top 5 trends, he says, focus on: 1. Pedestrian orientation, 2. Environmental conscience, 3. Recreational programming, 4. Integrated mixed uses and 5. Multi-modal transportation.

These ideas are not new, he notes. In fact, the five top trends in today’s master-planned communities are concepts that were actually created more than 50 years ago. These trends, born out of the post World War II era, are now mainstream once again due to current environmental and socioeconomic issues.

The image of classic neighborhood living that guided the American Dream is still very much alive today.

You can see the entire article on the GolfCourseHome.net blog. along with examples of well-designed communities such as Daniel Island, SC.

Industry leaders featuring properties on GolfCourseHome®Network include Toll Brothers, Intrawest/Playground, Centex, Pulte Homes/Del Webb, Worthington, DR Horton, Kolter and LandMar. Major real estate firms featured include Cora Bett Thomas, SC; Waterfront Properties, FL; Turnquist Properties, TX; Oxford Realty, FL; and Liz Moore & Associates, VA.

Balsam Mountain Preserve Awarded
GreenGolfCommunity.net Status by GolfCourseHome® Network

North Carolina Community awarded the highest level--Vanguard

June 1 2009, Newtown, CT--GolfCourseHome.net and the Golf Course Home® Network announce that Balsam Mountain Preserve, a 4,400-acre golf and preservation community located just west of Asheville, NC, has been named a Green Golf Community and has earned Vanguard designation, the highest level awarded.

Balsam Mountain Preserve joins more than 50 master-planned golf and waterview communities in 16 states that have demonstrated leadership in pursuing and promoting environmentally friendly policies and construction.

Qualifying communities are assigned to one of four categories—Vanguard, Steward, Sustaining and Participant—depending on the extent of their green programs and achievements. These designations are fluid in that a community can move up (or down) based on new programs added in the future.

Each community can stand out in up to18 different areas, ranging from Significant Green Space, Staff Naturalist, Nature Center, Education & Research and Habitat Restoration to Green Construction (LEED, etc.), Conservation Foundation, Research Partnership, Volunteer Programs, Archeological Preserve and participation in Audubon International’s Sanctuary program.

“Balsam Mountain Preserve is especially qualified for being awarded Vanguard status since 70 percent of the community has been placed in a permanent conservation easement, ensuring it will never be developed,” notes David Lott, Golf Course Home® Network Founder and Publisher. “And the non-profit Balsam Mountain Trust, which operates the on-site Nature Center, serves as a wonderful educational resource for young and old.”

GolfCourseHome.net Is the Place to Go for
Golf Real Estate: “Business 2.0” Magazine

Editors cite http://www.GolfCourseHome.net as a successful niche real estate web site

Newtown, CT, November 4, 2004—When it comes to “Browsing to Buy” a home in a golf course  community, the GolfCourseHome®Network of web sites is one of the first places people go to research the market, says the November issue of “Business 2.0” Magazine.

“Online real estate listings will move $130 billion worth of homes this year,” the article begins, and, “these clever companies have figured out how to grab a piece of the market.”

The GolfCourseHome®Network is profiled from its launch in 1999 as http://www.GolfCourseHome.net, along with two other real estate web sites, in an article that can be found in the magazine’s “What Works” section.

The magazine noted how Editor/Publisher David Lott developed the concept after writing about golf course communities for “Golf Digest” and that the company has been profitable since it was founded.

“Business 2.0, which has a national circulation of 600,000 technology-oriented business professionals, is recognizing what a major force the Internet has become in helping people buy real estate,” notes Lott.

“At a recent amenity community conference,” he continues, “research was presented that showed between 70 and 90 percent of today’s amenity community homebuyers use the internet to search for homes and lots. That’s nearly triple the percentage from just two year’s ago.”

The GolfCourseHome®Network has benefited from the growing number of web-based, real-estate searches, recently announcing a 44-percent increase in visitor traffic over the past six months. The Network also reported a record-setting 400,000+ visitors viewed the Network’s 100+ featured communities in the second and third quarters of this year.

GolfCourseHome®Network Surpasses
60,000 Monthly Visitors

Month of February 2004 is best in its four-year history

Newtown, CT, March 4, 2004 – The GolfCourseHome®Network of web sites, which features master-planned, golf and waterview communities, registered the strongest month of visitor traffic in its history in February. After topping 55,000 visitors in January, traffic leapt another 16 percent in February to 63,916.

In addition, total network hits for the month passed the one million mark for the first time.

“New doorways and new communities are key reasons for the jump,” says David Lott, Network Editor and Publisher. “Doorways, such as www.LuxuryGolfCommunities.net, www.PrivateGolfCommunities.net and www.PrivateGatedCommunities.net, cast a wide net in helping home buyers find our network of golf and waterview communities, and they are producing excellent streams of traffic.

Other important doorways into the network that are delivering traffic include, www.GolfCourseCommunities.net, www.LuxuryGolfHomes.net and www.WaterViewHome.net, which features master-planned, waterfront and waterview communities.

“The GolfCourseHome®Network occupies a very narrow niche in the real estate market,” notes Lott, “but it is increasingly playing a larger part in delivering quality buyers to the niche we serve: amenity-rich, master-planed communities with golf and waterview homes.”

WaterViewHome.net Breaks 10,000-Visitor Mark

Article by CBSMarketWatch.com kicks off new advance in growth

NEWTOWN, CT, August 19, 2003 – Visitor traffic at http://www.WaterViewHome.net, the web site for master-planned, waterfront communities, broke through the 10,000-visitor level for the first time in July. The new high-water mark represented a 31 percent leap in traffic from April, according to David Lott, the site’s publisher and editor.

The record total also pushed the site past the 100,000-hit per month level for the second time in three months, Lott said.

The recent rush of new traffic was kicked off in May by a real estate story published on CBSMarketWatch.com, a financial services web site. The article cited WaterViewHome.net as a resource and included its Internet address. Traffic from the article’s link continued into June and July.

“The media exposure was right where we want it--online,” said Lott. “The story’s hotlink
enabled curious readers to jump directly to http://www.WaterViewHome.net and our in-depth community information has enabled us to build on the exposure ever since.”

The gains for the web site follows on the heels of a recent 6-month growth spurt in which WaterViewHome.net added 10 new communities to its featured real estate line-up, now totaling 45, and traffic numbers doubled over the previous 6-months’ total.

http://WaterViewHome.net is part of the GolfCourseHome
®Network of web sites, which features http://www.GolfCourseHome.net, http://www.LuxuryGolfCommunities.net and other related sites. The Network serves as an information resource for people looking to buy a primary or secondary home, a home/lot for retirement, or an investment home/lot located within master-planned, golf and waterview communities.

"We’re beginning to pick up a head of steam," said David Lott, editor and publisher of GolfCourseHome.net, "and have made an excellent start towards our goal of 100 communities."

The 10 states represented are: New Mexico, Michigan, Missouri, Colorado, California, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida.

"We’re beginning to see other states besides the traditional golf community states of the Carolinas, Florida, Arizona and California come into their own with golf communities," Lott noted. "Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, Colorado, New Mexico and others are getting in on the action, too. The Boomers are fueling the demand and developers are answering with more buying opportunities."

http://www.GolfCourseHome.net is the fastest-growing provider of golf community information on the Web. It features a database of more than 500 master-planned communities, plus editorial features on more than 70 world-class golf communities in 20 states, including properties owned by Del Webb, WCI Communities, Toll Brothers, Branigar, International Paper and Cooper Communities. GolfCourseHome.net has been featured in Golf for Women Magazine, Golf Digest, and most recently, in the February 2001 issue of Senior Golfer.

GolfCourseHome.net Hits Visitor Traffic Record in August, Continuing Strong Growth

Site breaks 100,000-Hit Barrier for the first time

NEWTOWN, CT, September 6, 2000 – GolfCourseHome.net, the Web’s fastest growing golf course real estate site, registered its eighth straight month of a 10 percent-or-more increase in visitor traffic in August, while hit totals surpassed a critical milestone. The golf community site broke through the 100,000 hit barrier for the first time, registering more than 110,000 hits, and continued garnering topline positions on search engine results.

For example, the search phrase "golf course living" recently put GolfCourseHome.net at the No. 1 position on Netscape, Snap.com, Go2net and Excite. The site was No. 2 on Go.com (3 out of 3 stars), Lycos (Most Popular Sites), AskJeeves.com, Direct Hit (Top 10 Most Popular Sites), and ATTWorldNet.

Other top rankings included No. 3 on HotBot and InfoSeek (out of 3.1 million sites). No 4 on Yahoo (Web page matches), Google and TopClick. And No. 7 on AltaVista, msn.com and AOL.com.

"Our strong, steady growth is a wonderful indication that our marketing strategy, in which we take the long view instead of going for flash and expensively acquired name recognition, is working," noted David Lott, Editor and Publisher. "We’re dedicated to building our business one visitor at a time."

"GolfCourseHome.net occupies a super-vertical niche," he continued, "working as a real estate site that focuses only on successful professionals who want to live on a golf course. We feature high-quality, master-planned communities, and they attract quality, upscale buyers. For example, a recent visitor wanted information on home sites costing between $500,000 and $750,000."

GolfCourseHome.net is the fastest growing provider of golf community information on the Web. It features a database of more than 500 master-planned communities, plus editorial features on more than 40 world-class golf communities in 20 states, including properties owned by Del Webb, WCI Communities, Branigar, International Paper and Cooper Communities.
